William E. Dager, Pharm.D., FCSHP
William E. Dager, Pharm.D., BCPS (AQ Cardiology), FCSHP, FCCP, FCCM, FASHP is a Pharmacist Specialist at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, Clinical Professor of Pharmacy-UCSF School of Pharmacy, and Clinical Professor of Medicine (Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine), UC Davis School of Medicine and Clinical Professor of Pharmacy, Touro -Vallejo School of Pharmacy.
After receiving his doctorate of pharmacy from the UCSF School of Pharmacy, he completed residency training at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. His initial practice involved critical care surgery and medicine, which evolved into a specialty practice that included implementation of an inpatient anticoagulation service providing care for both adult and pediatric patients. His current practice includes management of patients on the cardiology and cardiac surgery services and he serves as second year pharmacy residency director in cardiology.
Dr. Dager presently serves as a preceptor for pharmacy and medical students and residents in the area of anticoagulation, nephrology and cardiology. He has been involved in numerous research projects, several as principle investigator, on antithrombotic therapy. The author of numerous papers and book chapters in the area of anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics, cardiology and nephrology, he also serves as a reviewer for several biomedical journals and is currently on the editorial board for The Annals of Pharmacotherapy where he Chair's the Panel on Anticoagulation. The recipient of several teaching awards, the ACCP best practice award, he has been recognized as a fellow by several organizations.
Dr. Dager has no conflicts of interest. His numerous presentations have been funded from unrestricted educational grants.
