How Do I Use ClotCare?

Our goal is for ClotCare to be as user-friendly as possible. In an effort to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for, we have provided 9 different ways to look for information on ClotCare:

  1. You can browse for information on a specific medicine or treatment. Examples include aspirin, Coumadin, and graduated compression stockings.
  2. You can browse for information on a type or class of medicine or treatment. Examples include oral anticoagulants and blood thinners.
  3. You can browse for information on a condition or medical procedure. Examples include deep vein thrombosis and bariatric surgery.
  4. You can browse for information on a lab test procedure, such as the PT-INR test.
  5. You can browse for information on a management issue, such as anticoagulation clinics or pharmacoeconomics.
  6. You can view a list of all postings for health care providers.
  7. You can view a list of all postings for patients and caregivers.
  8. You can search for information by entering a keyword or phrase in the Google search tool.
  9. You can review recent postings in the "New Postings" section. Any posting that is less than 60 days old is listed in this section in addition to being available via the other search methods.

I will use an example to illustrate how to use the site. If you came to ClotCare looking for information on Coumadin, you could click on the left-hand link labeled "Specific Medicine or Treatment."

ClotCare Menu

You would then see a list of medicines on which ClotCare has postings.

Next, you would click "Coumadin." You would then see a list of all ClotCare postings that have information on Coumadin. Postings are divided according to their target audience (patients/caregivers or health care professionals). Additionally, postings are sorted according to when they were posted, with the most recent postings first.

That's it. Just click on the posting you want to review, and it will appear.
