Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT):
A Silent Killer

A patient's story written by Stacey Anderson
March, 2010

Hello. My name is Stacey Anderson. My husband passed away suddenly last September at the age of 42 due to DVT and PE. No signs or symtpoms and extremely fast. Most definatlely a "silent killer". After picking our son up from his frist middle school dance, my husband came home to watch a little television and fell asleep in the recliner. This tremendous loss has left me a single mother to three precious boys and has left our three precious boys without their father.

I just wanted to share my story in hopes of raising awareness of this "silent killer" and to try to inform as many as possible. DVT is a preventable disease. If we had only known...
