Editorial Board

Mary Amato, Pharm.D., MPH

Dr. Mary Amato

Dr. Amato obtained her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa, a Pharm.D from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and a MPH from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She completed residencies in pharmacy practice and ambulatory care and a clinical pharmacy fellowship in primary care. She has directed anticoagulation clinics in a University clinic setting, a VA outpatient clinic setting, and has seen anticoagulation inpatients and outpatients in a large group practice setting. Her research and practice involve pharmacotherapy of primary care patients and she has focused on documenting the effectiveness of clinical pharmacists in managing patients receiving anticoagulants and those with other chronic diseases. Currently, she is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington Massachusetts and has an adjunct faculty appointment at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston.
